Compassi’s Life Cycle Assessment course

Compassi offers once a year a Life Cycle Assessment course. If you are not anymore a university student and would like to learn about LCA, this is, to our knowledge, your best option to learn about this methodology without spending a month or two of your salary for it. Compassi’s reason for opening an affordable LCA course is the belief that we all need to step-up our knowledge of sustainability, and LCA is the best methodology to learn this by doing.

By taking this course you will acquire a much stronger understanding of the environmental impacts that are happening in the world, especially on the why, where, how they happen, and how they can be measured. Furthermore, you will gain theoretical knowledge on Life Cycle Assessment, in all its basic steps. Lastly, you will have the opportunity to apply that knowledge by working on a case study using a professional LCA tool directly on your computer.

If you successfully complete the course, you will be able to:

- Develop a critical mindset and understand when people talk about environmental impacts

- Read and understand an LCA study and related content

- Conduct yourself a basic LCA

The course takes place between the months of January and March, and has a total duration of 3 months: 2 months of theory and 1 month of practice. Lectures are every Tuesday evening, from 18 to 20.

The course is given by Compassi’s founder, Mirko Dal Maso, and you will also have the opportunity to hear from national and international guest speakers (for which knowledge of English will be needed).

2022 will be the first year this course is offered. In this first edition, the course will have the goal to improve knowledge of LCA and sustainability in Italy. Therefore, the course will be, for this first year, only taught in Italian.

A basic technical background (e.g. Engineering degree) is advised, but not mandatory.

The price for participating in the course is 450 EUR (+VAT) per person, which includes lessons and access to the LCA tool during the month of practice. Additionally, you are advised to purchase the book “Life Cycle Assessment: Theory and Practice” available here, which is the guiding text for the course.

Opening of the course is subject to reaching the minimum numbers of subscribers. If that is not reached, everyone will be reimbursed.

THE COURSE IS HELD ONLINE.
