Working with institutions for a sustainable transition

Assessing the environmental impacts of portfolios or projects and companies

Compassi works with public and private institutions to assess the climate and broader environmental impacts of their portfolios of companies and projects. Typical organisations supported by Compassi are development finance institutions, and UN organisations.

Our approach takes institutions by the hand and starts by developing tailor-made methodologies based on international best practice that are fit for the goal of the specific institution.

After developing the methodology, Compassi supports the institution by assessing the impacts of their projects.

Within the approach developed, Compassi is able to offer several types of assessment options according to the stage of the project and the goals of the clients. This provide an all-round understanding of the environmental impacts of the projects that can support strategic decision at all levels, at any time. Assessment can vary according to

- Level of detail – from screening assessment, to full Life Cycle Assessments

- The item being assessed – from assessment of individual project to the footprint of a whole portfolio

- Timeframe - assessments can be forward-looking as well as tracking real-time impacts

Tools deployed include Life Cycle Assessment and Carbon Footprint, applied in alignment with international best-practice such as ISO standards, GHG Protocol, and PCAF Global Standard.
